Technical Support

Technical support is available to existing and potential customers from our Sheffield office by phone, fax and e-mail. Our Technical Engineers are also available to visit customers onsite if required.

The selection of the optimum blade specification will improve the product finish and, at the same time, will increase the performance and extend the life of the blade. Consequently, downtime and annual requirements for new saw blades will be reduced and the user will achieve a reduction in the cutting cost per tonne on their mill application.

Spear & Jackson Trial Process
A trial process is used to select blades for a new application or to improve performance in an existing application.
Supply a range of blade specifications with different pitches and profiles etc.
Set up and monitor a trial preferably on site with the customer
Record results and cutting conditions
Return blades to Spear & Jackson for inspection and repair
Repeat trial with repaired blades to prove blade performance following a quality repair
Analyse results and select optimum blade or blades for the range of products to be cut
Convert all blades to the optimum specification so the customer is left with a fully usable blade stock.
