Technical Information
POWERGRINDER - Sharpening Machine
Grinding Head
- Flat belt driven, speed 1910 RPM
- Motor size 2.2 kW 415V 3-phase 1420 RPM 50 Hz
- Grinding stroke variable from 10 mm to 50 mm via hand wheel adjustment.
- Grinding head oscillates on heavy duty precision ground shafts using sealed recirculating ball bearings.
- Fabric reinforced bellows protect the slide ways from grinding dust.
- Grinding head can be tilted up to 20 degrees measured on a machine cut scale.
- Feed adjustment is achieved via a hand wheel mounted on the grinding head.
- Spring applied blade steady mechanism .
- Forward stroke is gravity fed via an internal counter weight system to prevent excessive load on the grinding wheel, back stroke is powered via the drive motor.
Electrical
- Electrical control panel is positioned on the front of the machine.
- Panel gives individual stop/start and running indication lights for:
Grinding head motor
Feed mechanical motor
Dust extractor motor
Automatic filter agitation
- All motors are protected by mechanical circuit breakers and thermal overload trips.
- Emergency stop button on front of panel.
Dust Extraction
- Fully shrouded grinding head and hollow shaft ventilation system for effective dust
extraction.
- Extraction via high pressure fan, 2.2 kW 415 V 3-phase 2800 RPM 50 Hz
- The integral filter compartment at rear the of the machine houses a reusable filter bag and pull out tray for dust removal.
- Automatic filter bag agitation via cam system and integral motor.
Saw Mounting
- Saw mounted on side floating arbour allowing for accurate centring of saw blade to grinding wheel.
- Saw position is obtained by rotating a handle mounted at end of machine.
- Slide ways are fully protected from grinding dust by reinforced bellows.
- Saw mounting shaft is 75 mm diameter alloy steel.
- Floating arbour is 100 mm diameter alloy steel.
- Capacity for saw blade diameter range of 1400 mm to 2400 mm.
General
- Feed mechanism. Gear box 40:1 ratio motor is 4kW 415V 3-phase 1420 RPM 50 Hz.
- 35 Strokes per minute.
- Pawl stroke is variable from 10 mm to 50 mm via hand wheel adjustment.
- Pawl adjustment is independent of grinding head stroke adjustment.
- All internal linkages have been designed using sealed for life ball/roller bearings.
